![]() ![]() I'm sure those have their admirers as well, but then they should have ended up in a separate book with a different cover. So why only three stars? Firstly, half of the books are are not the beautiful classic pin-up drawings everyone loves, but cheesy black and white pin-up photos made at the same time (around the 50s and 60s). This book features hundreds of fantastic reproductions of classic pin-up magazine covers. Like I said, I love the book but it could be so much better and my peeves are too great to give it that 5th star. What drives me most batty about this book is that it isn't properly formatted for the page size, and most images are cut off around the edges, obliterating a lot of text. I'll also mention that the magazines featured in this book were all produced by the same man so it's pretty much all the same stuff it would've been great to have pin up magazines from other creators/publishers. It's predominantly cover images with some features from within the magazines that are quite fun and 'socially risque' by todays standards, but they're great and I wish there was far more of them. These magazines would have had an amazing array of quirky advertisements so why are we seeing the same ones here? There's quite a bit of duplication elsewhere in the book in multiple identical images of advertisements. It's interesting to see how much of the art was reused across multiple volumes of the magazines but I don't want to keep seeing the same pics. Holy moly, 1000 pin-up girls, complete with plenty of duplicates. These magazines would have had an amazing array of quirky advertisements so why are we seeing This is a pretty fantastic collection and I quite love this book but I can't give it 5 stars.
